Product Properties:
Micronized Polyethylenes
This category of polyethylene wax is an important segment
of the MARCUS product range. These are ultra-fine powders of which there
are two grades (M 5005 & M 5010) which are based upon M 300. The average
particle sizes are 5 & 10 microns respectively although the particle
size spread is as shown:-

These micronised grades retain the hard and high
melting point of M 300 and both of these parameters are key elements
in ensuring their status as high performance additives. The most common
use is as "stir-in" products at a recommended level of 1-3% to lacquers,
varnishes and inks, both solvent and water based, to augment the quality
in the following respects:-
-
Abrasion and scratch resistance
-
Rub resistance
-
Antiblocking behaviour
-
Reduction of COF
